Description:  The classic British 16” clay fire back has been with us for years and would radiate heat when hot.  The fire would consist of a tapered cast iron grate, ash pan and a fire front (Fret) and they would normally be fitted to various tiled, marble, stone or brick fireplaces.  There are a few designs of these grate kits still available.
