Oak surrounds

Oak is our most popular material for surrounds, it is so versatile as it can be stained various colours to give it a contemporary or a traditional feel.  Being the nature of the wood a close grain will naturally give the surround a darker colour, whereas an open grain will give a lighter colour.

Pine fireplaces

Pine is a knotty soft wood, a popular sustainable material and a common material used in fireplace surrounds.  It can be stained or waxed in various different colours, most popular is an antiqued wax finish which gives a light brown distressed finish.

Mahogany fireplaces

Mahogany is a rich coloured hard wood which is among the most valuable materials in the world and is known for its unique pink colouring, which develops into a deep reddish-brown as it ages.  Unlike other wood products such as pine or oak, mahogany features very few knots or voids, this gives a smooth, even grain pattern, which makes it ideal for fine furnishings and fire surrounds.
